Position Summary

The Sr. Security Engineer is responsible for overseeing the company's cyber security and compliance strategy. This includes securing enterprise information by determining security requirements; planning, implementing, and testing security systems, preparing security standards, policies, and procedures and mentoring team members. This position will drive enterprise organizational alignment to ensure successful security, governance, monitoring, and risk management is adhered to.

 

Work Schedule: This position currently follows a hybrid work model. Employees are required to work from the office at least four days per week (Monday - Thursday), with Friday available for remote work, offering a blend of in-person collaboration and flexibility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Design, build and implement enterprise-class security systems for a production environment.
  • Align standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy.
  • Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats.  
  • Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge.
  • Demonstrates expertise in SD-WAN technologies to optimize secure network connectivity, enforce security policies and support scalable enterprise operations.
  • Familiarity with security technologies such as SentinalOne, Tripwire, Splunk, Tenable (or comparable tools) to detect, analyze and remediate threats, ensuring compliance with security frameworks.
  • Create solutions that balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements.
  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
  • Coordinate and perform required compliance and security audits.
  • Train users in implementation or conversion of systems.
  • Good business judgment, a comfortable, open communication style, and a willingness and ability to work with customers and teams.
  • Strong service attitude and a commitment to quality.
  • Strong knowledge of VPN networks and routing technology.
  • Hands on experience with F5 Load balancers, Palo Alto Panorama.
  • Solid understanding of WAN technology including IPSEC, link redundancy, VPN and other technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and able to manage/lead groups of people and tasks simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with compliance and security standards such as GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPPA, SOX, etc.
  • 10 or more years of IT experience.
  • 7 years of experience in LAN/WAN environments with a strong security background, WiFi network management, IDS systems, VOIP networks, Juniper (J series routers) and SSG series equipment.
  • 5 years of hands on experience in large scale production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting information security solutions.
  • Relevant Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SCCP.
