  • Position Summary

    This role administers the day to day responsibilities of accounting and financial reporting services for the Legacy Foundation of Isagenix. The Legacy Foundation creates sustainable impact globally through volunteer efforts and charitable contributions focused on healthy nutrition for underserved children, wellness education for all, and aid for those affected by natural disasters. The foundation is made up of not-for-profit organizations that meet Isagenix’s foundation criteria and seek donations and contributions to enhance and fulfill a wide range of purposes. The Foundation Accountant performs accounting functions associated with Isagenix’s Legacy Foundation and not for profit entities including international entities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reviewing, reporting, auditing and analyzing expenditures for compliance with requirements, governmental rules and regulations, proper account classifications, established policies/procedures and conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

    • Assist with the set up and maintenance of chart of accounts, accounting records, software database and financial reporting software in accordance with not-for-profit accounting standards. Review data from foundation management software for incorporation into accounting records.
    • Partner with Blackbaud to ensure database is set up, implemented and functioning to the best of its abilities.
    • Oversee proper recording of donation activity including processing uploads and manual entries, proper classification of grants and physical cash handling.
    • Ensure timing, amount and any restrictions for contribution revenue adhere to not-for-profit accounting standards.
    • Estimate and record in kind donations in DAX and database software, including professional services performed on behalf of the company (internally and externally).
    • Ensure proper controls over cash collections, bank payments, AP.
    • Team with internal partners on proper setup of business processes with Legacy Foundation financials.
    • Coordinate between Isagenix departments including AP, tax, cash collection and bank management.
    • Performing monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations including accruals, closing journal entries and research to resolve any discrepancies.
    • Provide training to key stakeholders and peers.
    • Assist business partners with budget activity, proper expenditure coding, understanding of reports and variance analyses and other accounting-related activities.
    • Assist with preparation of reports and analyses as needed for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting including budget reports, board reports and regulatory reports. Ensure they are done accurately and timely.
    • Assist in performing year-end audits, including preparation of schedules, footnotes, disclosures, etc.
    • Ensure database provides mandatory IRS forms for the foundation and contribution letters. May be asked to provide additional assistance to Tax team on specific related items.
    • Gain and maintain knowledge of Not-for-profit accounting.
    • Help with Isagenix Corporate Accounting on an as-needed basis.

    Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
    • 3 years of experience performing accounting activities.
    • Professional experience and knowledge of GAAP accounting and non-profit accounting.
    • Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and able to coordinate/manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Proven analytical skill-set and ability to hit deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
    • Knowledge and application of accounting theory, principles, and procedures.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 6 years of experience performing accounting activities.
    • Professional experience in network marketing or health and wellness industry.
    • Previous experience in Dynamics AX ERP system.
    • Previous experience using Blackbaud.
    • Previous experience with accounting for multiple currencies and local country accounting requirements outside of the US.
