  • Position Summary

    The Buyer will support Purchasing activities both domestically, and internationally, by obtaining and reviewing quotes, negotiating with suppliers, generating purchase orders, and monitoring open orders and vendor performance. This position will be a key contributor to raw materials sourcing initiatives and category purchasing strategies that support the multinational operational needs of the business. 

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

    • Manage and control competitive bid process, including RFIs, RFQs, negotiations of purchasing agreements (including contracting) with suppliers, and implementation of indirect sourcing/buying programs.
    • Develop and manage strategic commodity and category procurement efforts both domestically, and internationally.
    • Work closely with qualified suppliers on sourcing and delivery of goods and services.
    • Liaise between Purchasing Department and several corporate functional areas, including but not limited to, Finance & Accounting, Legal, Facilities, IT, Operations, Marketing, and Events.
    • Realize savings through developing and implementing category management techniques, applying sourcing strategies, and preparing Total Cost of Ownership analysis.
    • Negotiate contractual arrangements between Isagenix and selected vendors; Suggest alternatives or amendments to suit the customer’s priorities and uphold authorized fund limits.
    • Prepare clear, accurate, and concise reports, specifications, correspondence and other written materials.
    • Process orders, handle routine interactions with customers/suppliers and provide a service that is customer friendly.
    • Create and implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high levels of service and quality.
    • Assist accounts payable in vendor invoice discrepancy resolution.

    Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent.
    • 2 years of purchasing experience in a strategic sourcing or buyer role.
    • Demonstrated experience in supplier qualification, supplier performance monitoring, and supplier approval status management.
    • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel and SharePoint.
    • Ability to leverage interpersonal skills to establish rapport and develop relationships with internal customers and colleagues, and external suppliers.
    • Strong project management skills, and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
    • Understanding of ERP software systems and processes.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 4 years of purchasing experience in a strategic sourcing or buyer role.
    • Experience in multinational sourcing of raw materials.
    • Nutrition, food, and beverage industry experience is highly preferred.
    • Formal education and training in food and nutrition is highly preferred.
    • Particular expertise in the procurement of outside services, and capital assets.
    • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics AX.
    • Proven contract negotiation skills.
