  • Position Summary

    The Business Engagement Analyst will be highly engaged in various projects that consist of bridging business needs and IT solutions. This position will bring partnership, consistency and delivery to both IT and business functional areas, which may impact a broad spectrum of teams through the organization and must coordinate multiple touch points. To achieve effective engagement the Business Engagement Analyst must develop and sustain relationships and stay abreast of both IT solutions and business projects and needs. Scope of work will include working closely with the PMO to bridge to the enterprise for major programs/projects involving IT and multiple departments, and bridging between the requesting business users and IT for the many small projects IT must prioritize and complete without PMO involvement.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

    • Consult with business users to identify wants, needs, and/or issues, and help deliver technology solutions that meet their business needs.
    • Understand current and potential systems and their function across the organization.
    • Perform business analysis for IT requests and document business and functional requirements.

    • Perform business process analysis on existing and new processes to help define IT requirements.
    • Provide guidance for IT project scoping and planning.
    • Ensure strategic ranking of IT requests and identification of key priorities.
    • Improve IT and business relationships using coordination, implementation, and collaboration practices.
    • Engage with both functional and technical teams on a continuous basis.
    • Offer unique perspectives and tailor solutions, as needed, to optimize solution release.
    • Coordinate meetings, timelines, costs, and technical aspects of IT projects.
    • Assist with backlog creation and management for technical teams.

    Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
    • 5 years in a technology development, business or process analysis, or business engagement position.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Technical bachelor’s degree or related field of study.
    • 7 years in a technology development, business or process analysis, or business engagement position.
    • Experience as a liaison between business and technical organizations.
    • Direct experience with portfolio and program creation and selection processes.
    • Experience with enterprise class systems including enterprise resource planning software.
